I still find it astonishing that a tough piece of wood can be cajoled into depicting the softest of fur but I also relish being able to distinguish between the very different types and personalities. I didn’t really need an excuse to engrave more cats but I was organising an exhibition called 500 Cats and this was a pleasurable way to introduce another 36 and get the numbers up!
